Due to the Wu Flu, it is going to take a few more days to get the new Brainclaw album to all high-level distribution outlets for you all to purchase, so in the mean time, here is the new DECEPTOR mini page with sneak peeks of all the songs:
As digital releases suffer from a disappointing lack of liner notes, I wanted to supply some vital information for the new Brainclaw release, DECEPTOR:
▪️Vocalist/Lyricist: Tara Lessard
▪️Bassist: Noel Conklin of Carfax Abbey
▪️Guitarist: John Ruszin III of Carfax Abbey/Modern Day Grey
▪️Vocalist/Lyricist: Gary Billings of Carfax Abbey/God Shaped Void
DECEPTOR is dedicated to the late Tara Lessard who contributed so much to this recording. Rest, T. You have earned it.
The album artwork for DECEPTOR is complete, approved and sent to the distributor. This is finally feeling real. Exciting times, Clawlings. Tentative release date is April 24.
For anyone who still remembers, I just wrote out, formatted and proofed every single lyric for the RIDICULOUSLY overdue new Brainclaw album DECEPTOR.
I HEAVILY reviewed all 12 master audio files for all of the new songs, and have given them the FINAL seal of approval.
I have contacted my distributors.
If the recent passing of Tara and this virus lockdown has shown me anything, it is that it is TIME TO FINALLY SHIT, or get off the pot for good.
My daughter Gwennie is turning five in May, and I have given her five full years of my undivided attention. My older stepsons are turning into men. Time is passing.
This album and electronic music in general have been clawing at my brain for the better part of ten years.
I have watched my favorite media franchises and more sadly and importantly, every single one of my musical heroes be slowly absorbed and destroyed by the current sociopolitical climate. It has infuriated me beyond words.
I have tried my best to ignore it all. FOR TEN YEARS.
NO LONGER. You deserve better. So… if there is anyone left who remembers:
STAY TUNED, CLAWLINGS.
IT IS FINALLY HAPPENING.
It is with great sadness that I must tell you that, after a valiant fight with a protracted illness, Tara has passed. I will always remember her as a passionate performer and musician, and my wife of eight years.
No words could possibly do justice to the spark of ever-changing life and spirit she had, and she changed me in uncountable ways, as well as leaving her mark on countless people and of course, the music of Brainclaw.
“When a time that will come to part us,
Forget me not, for it is here,
In those missing times,
We send our deepest sense to climb.
One fine night, when one heart enjoins.
Hark, and be well! Go catch the light in every cell. Let the fire take the fire, and the rain wash the pain.
May your soul’s waters never wane.
Make Eden here, send angels prayers.
May your garden be sweet! Let the fire take the fire. Let the fire take the fire.
And the rain wash the pain.”
– Peter Murphy
See ya, T. We did some really great things, had some really great experiences, but you beat me to the next big adventure. I know you are finally at peace, with yourself and the world. Until we meet again…
Looks like at least one song, “Deadlife” from the album Insekt/Angel, will appear in the upcoming horror film, Cherokee Creek!
This little gem just caught our attention here at the Brainclaw enclave. Totally bad-ass!
