Back in September of 2006, Brainclaw was selected to appear on a new Depeche Mode tribute compilation called Bright Lights, Dark Room.
What evolved was a Brainclawified version of Depeche Mode’s classic single “Work Hard.” You can listen to the song here.
Brainclaw was guests with many excellent electro industrial artists on this compilation, including Razed In Black, Serotonin, Swarf, Blue October, Run Level Zero and many more.

Back in May of 2007, Brainclaw were approached by Japanese cyberpunk/spoken word author Kenji Siratori to collaborate on a spoken word song project called PIG.
Kenji supplied us with his trademark bizzare, Burroughs-styled spoken word poetry in Japanese, and we created a Brainclaw song around it.
The result was REGENERATOR P.I.G.
This strange mashup collaboration was up for and succeeded in being chosen to be the music for the Diehard 4: Live Free Or Die Hard movie trailer in Japan.
To the total honor of Brainclaw, Kenji went on to name one of his performance exhibitions Regeneratior P.I.G. as well.
As a band that is completely in love with Japan and Japanese culture, this was a great way to come full circle.
Enjoy this bit of sonic strangeness from Brainclaw and their brother from across the Pacific…
To generate excitement for the upcoming release of the new Brainclaw album DECEPTOR, let’s take a trip down Brainclaw Memory Lane…
Here is Brainclaw’s cover of the Tears For Fears classic “Mad World“ from back in the day, circa early 2005…
We will be posting rare and forgotten Brainclaw tracks over the coming weeks with regularity to get things warmed up for the new release, and to let folks get a listen to older things that may have escaped their notice the first time around.
Enjoy, and stay tuned for more!
(You may hear things that have NEVER seen the light of day before!)
Brainclaw now has a wonderful new logo courtesy of musician and graphic designer Kim Thompson, who just happens to be Brainclaw keyboardist, Carfax Abbey bassist, and the dark mind behind Darkmind Design. We love the new logo! Thanks again, Miss Kim! Be sure to check out the Darkmind Design website for Miss Kim’s custom fragrances, artwork and jewelry!
Industrial music magazine Regen will be conducting an interview this week with Brainclaw, to discuss the upcoming release of DECEPTOR, among other things.
Veteran music writer Ilker Yücel will be conducting the interview. Brainclaw has a longstanding relationship with Regen, having done interviews and having received reviews from them for all past releases. Check back here in a few weeks for links to the interview.
It now looks like the new release will contain at least ten brand-new tracks, with a bonus of at least five remixes, some by Brainclaw, and some by distinguished artists, tentatively including Cesium 137, Dedman and John Ruszin of Collinwood13, ex-Carfax Abbey and Single Bullet Theory.
It is shaping up to be a big album, recorded and mastered in high resolution for superior sound. John Ruszin, also live guitarist for Brainclaw, is lending his talents in recording guitar tracks for this new collection of songs. Be prepared for a meaner, heavier Brainclaw!
It is uncertain at this time if the album will see label release or will be released independently. There is currently some label interest, and time will tell what manner of distribution this will be. We do know that CDs will be pressed, with the possibility of some limited edition deluxe editions. Stay tuned for more info as it becomes available…
Greek radio station Rocking Satellite contacted Brainclaw this week to request a comprehensive press package including all Brainclaw albums, so they can introduce Brainclaw to the Greek music audience! Very exciting, especially since the new album is getting ready to emerge…
