Here is the God Shaped Void album Grey Skies, that Gary Billings (co-founder and front man of Carfax Abbey) and I did circa 2009. He wrote most of the songs on guitar, and invited me to add some synthy Brainclaw flavor on most of the tracks. We performed, recorded and produced them in Studio Auroviral. Lovely, dark, moody stuff… A couple of fun covers as well. Enjoy.
After a fourteen year wait… here it is! Deceptor is finally released and available for sale. Thank you SO much for your patience! I really hope you enjoy it.

For anyone who still remembers, I just wrote out, formatted and proofed every single lyric for the RIDICULOUSLY overdue new Brainclaw album DECEPTOR.
I HEAVILY reviewed all 12 master audio files for all of the new songs, and have given them the FINAL seal of approval.
I have contacted my distributors.
If the recent passing of Tara and this virus lockdown has shown me anything, it is that it is TIME TO FINALLY SHIT, or get off the pot for good.
My daughter Gwennie is turning five in May, and I have given her five full years of my undivided attention. My older stepsons are turning into men. Time is passing.
This album and electronic music in general have been clawing at my brain for the better part of ten years.
I have watched my favorite media franchises and more sadly and importantly, every single one of my musical heroes be slowly absorbed and destroyed by the current sociopolitical climate. It has infuriated me beyond words.
I have tried my best to ignore it all. FOR TEN YEARS.
NO LONGER. You deserve better. So… if there is anyone left who remembers:
STAY TUNED, CLAWLINGS.
IT IS FINALLY HAPPENING.
This was a TON of fun to do, and it is quite possible it will happen again in the future!
Stay tuned, Clawlings.
With the folding of the UK-based Juggernaut label back around Christmas (amazingly, right before the release of DECEPTOR), we found ourselves back at the drawing board, so to speak. DECEPTOR desperately wants to get released, but it seems that the Universe doesn’t think it is time yet.
The album has been completed for nearly a year, and we have been promising it for some time. We here at the Brainclaw Enclave are considering several other methods of release, but we want to get the best and widest distribution possible, and a label can often achieve that, where a self-release usually can’t.
That being said, we currently have interest from two labels, and are busy exploring these options. Rest assured that this album WILL come out, one way or another. As we snake through the chaos that is the modern music “industry,” we will keep you up to date as much as possible.
We are all eager to get this released, as writing of new material has been going on for some time! Closing this chapter/trilogy of the Brainclaw saga will be good for everyone. Stay tuned for more details as they become available, and as always, thanks for your undying support through all of this turbulence.
Your continued interest and emails astound us… – David
Going to be working with my good friend and English brother Stephen Wilkins on one of his new songs, “We Are Random.” I will be writing and recording lyrics. We both share a love of electronic music and Gary Numan, so kindred spirits for sure. This is going to be fun!
